Page 22 Kitchen In the One of Arcadia’s favorite culinary havens, Crudo is a place where guests have come to expect innovative dishes in a series of courses. When not in the restaurant, with Cullen manning the kitchen and Maureen running the front of the house, the two find it hard to make time to cook. “When we’re home and decide to actually cook, Cullen does the cooking and I follow him around cleaning up,” said Maureen. Maureen admits her skills are better behind the barbecue. “She makes a mean turkey burger,” said Cullen. Originally, three separate rooms stood where the new kitchen resides. A wall was knocked down, getting rid of the laundry room and dining room. The washer and dryer were then hidden behind two doors and the dining room and kitchen became one large space. The dining area is now an extension of the prepping space, allowing culinary technique to be the star of the show, whether it’s a dinner party or a night in for the newlyweds. And if a glass of wine happens to be enjoyed, Cullen and Maureen will be sure to toss the cork into the bowl on their large granite island in the middle of the kitchen.
