The Triad. Three Fountains. Executive Towers. Before starting this edition of Arcadia Home & Design, I had little knowledge of what those structures meant to architectural history. Minnesota-born Alfred Beadle was the designer of the projects mentioned above. Throughout his career, he crafted over 200 builds – many of which have been lost or altered. Beadle moved to Phoenix in the early 1950s and built various commercial and residential projects, including the iconic Safari Hotel in Scottsdale. His designs were practical and modern, and his legacy lives on in the inspiration for new builds across the Valley. Art One Gallery, a student-artist-focused business in Old Town, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023. I spoke to manager Max Smith to get the history of the business and talk about their future plans, which include continuing to support the arts and Arizona artists.
